Ryan Barrett died in a drowning accident on Thursday evening. Please join us in praying for Ryan and his family.We remember Ryan for his sweet personality, his love of music, and his gentle faith. He was a good friend to my children, and a delight to have in our homeschooling circle of families. We will miss him.

What a beautiful article. Thank you so much for sharing it. When I first heard the news of Ryan's death, I couldn't help but cry, even though I'd never met him or his family (though because of Mary Ellen's blog, I felt as though I had). My children were off having fun with their father, and like probably everyone else, I couldn't wait to see them again.
If there is any beauty to be found in this tragedy, it is the huge level of support online that exists, and the obvious love for Ryan and his family among all who knew him. I also can't help but think how lucky they were, as a homeschooling family, to have been able to so richly share in his short life.
It also makes all other concerns seem petty by comparison.
He and his family are most certainly in my prayers.
Oh, I just read about this on Willa's blog, but I didn't make the connection that Ryan lived on Long Island and that you knew him. I'm so sorry to hear about his death. He and his family are in my prayers, too.
