Cottage Critters

As seen at Alice's house yesterday.

Where else but Alice's cottage can one find a lovely decorative box to capture...

...some unblessed invaders:

And no visit to the Cottage Garden would be complete without meeting Maj:

What a fabulous montage of pests and predators! Beautiful!

I was wishing you were here today. The exterminator arrived and diagnosed the little fellers as: Citronella Ants! Harmless!!!!

He lifted them up and spelled them--then let me smell, and it was exactly like a candle. So, of course, I said, "Are you sure that isn't a scented box they're in?" (Not a question he hears every day, I'm sure!)

You'd have laughed for ten minutes. Anyway, thanks for advising me to hold on to the specimens, because it saved time, aggravation, and money.

"lifted them up and smelled them" -- not spelled them!

I hope he did not charge you. I have never heard of that kind of ant! I am so glad they are harmless, even if there were quite a few of them.

And where else but in that blessed cottage would we find scented ants!! LOL!!
